Ethel Anamoo champions greater female leadership in sales and marketing industry
Chief Business Officer for AT has called for increased female representation in the sales and marketing sectors, traditionally dominated by men.
Mrs. Anamoo who was speaking at the recently ended National Sales and Marketing Conference stressed the urgent need for women to take on leadership roles and challenge the status quo in industries where they have historically been underrepresented.
“Sales and marketing have long been perceived as fields best suited to men, particularly because these professions were often associated with the role of the primary breadwinner,” Anamoo explained during a panel discussion. “However, the industry is evolving. Women are no longer just participants; they are at the forefront, driving innovation and reshaping the landscape with their unique insights and skills.”
The shift in sales and marketing reflects broader changes in society, where traditional gender roles are being redefined. Anamoo’s call for greater female representation is a vital part of a larger effort to ensure that women are recognized and valued in leadership roles within these critical sectors.
“It’s crucial for women to step into leadership positions in these industries, and those who have already done so should actively mentor and encourage the next generation of women leaders,” Anamoo continued. She highlighted AT’s commitment to creating an inclusive workplace that supports women in taking on new and challenging roles. “At AT, we consciously create opportunities for women through job rotation and mentorship programs, empowering them to overcome barriers and excel in their careers.”
The journey toward greater female leadership in sales and marketing is ongoing, but the progress made by leaders like Ethel Anamoo demonstrates the strength, talent, and determination of women in these fields. “Our story is one of breaking barriers, challenging stereotypes, and building a legacy for future generations,” she said. “This is a narrative that deserves to be celebrated and documented as part of our business history.”
As more women rise to leadership positions in sales and marketing, their contributions are reshaping business practices, proving that diversity and inclusion are not merely aspirations but essential components of a successful and dynamic industry.
