HD+ equips over 10,000 youth in 3 years, 2,000 in 2023 alone

SES HD PLUS, premium satellite broadcast service provider and marketers of the HD+ TV service, has brought to a close its ongoing 2023 HD+ Installer Training programme.

The initiative falls in line with the company’s goal to create employment opportunities in Ghana and also ensure HD+ users have their devices and accompanying satellite equipment professionally installed by accredited technicians.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of SES HD PLUS, Adelaide Abbiw-Williams, at the closing ceremony for the 22nd Cohort, stated that the company’s goal has been to provide subscribers with a Feeli Feeli experience of HD quality television viewing and to be at the forefront of accelerating socio-economic growth ever since SES HD PLUS was launched in Ghana.

“Critical to us is to develop the skills and knowledge of local satellite technicians and dealers in order to empower locals,  businesses, and communities economically” she said.

She indicated that so far, in 2023, her outfit has trained over 2000 installers since commencement in March.

This according to her, brings to a total of about 10,000 installers trained since SES HD PLUS GH launched the HD+ Service in Ghana in December 2020.

“In addition to the practical job centred training programmes, installers are provided with free dust coats and training materials to enhance their businesses’’ she added.

A beneficiary of the training program,  Andrews Allotey thanked HD+ for the opportunity adding that it’s tough to make ends meet and learning a trade offers one a competitive advantage over many.

“That’s the opportunity and advantage HD+ has given me and countless others throughout this period. We thank HD+ for the critical role they play in Ghana’s socio-economic development” he stressed.

He gave customers the reassurance that their devices would be in good hands because HD+ had given trainers access to the FeeliFeeli experience, which they would undoubtedly pass on to subscribers.

The closing ceremony came off at the Adabraka Presbyterian Church on 9th May 2023.

Globally, unemployment is a challenge to many countries. The United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 8 aims to promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment, and decent work for all.

Independent initiatives such as the employment opportunities created by HD+ via training have been cited and encouraged by development agencies and governments to help lessen the burden on taxpayers’ funds in creating jobs.
