12th Annual Ghana Garden and Flower Show focused on ‘GREENOVATION’

Strategic Communications Africa Ltd. (Stratcomm Africa) has officially unveiled the 12th Annual Ghana Garden and Flower Show, set to take place from Sunday, 22nd September to Sunday, 29th September 2024, at the Efua Sutherland Children’s Park in Accra. This year’s theme, “GREENOVATION: Green the Nation, Feed the Nation, Grow the Nation,” underscores the vital connection between environmental conservation, food security, economic empowerment, and green innovation.

The theme reflects the urgent need for innovative and sustainable practices in horticulture, floriculture, and agriculture. These practices are key to ensuring food security and fostering economic empowerment in Ghana.

The eight-day event will feature a variety of activities, including:

  • Exhibition: Showcasing diverse gardening, horticulture, floriculture, and agriculture products.
  • Green to Riches Conference: A youth-focused event aimed at exploring green business opportunities and sustainable development strategies to encourage youth participation in the sector.
  • Masterclasses: Expert-led sessions providing practical skills in sustainable gardening, environmental conservation, and innovative green technologies.
  • Little Green Fingers: Special gardening workshops designed for children to engage them in environmental stewardship through interactive and educational activities.

The event will also host special events such as the Israeli Green Innovation Competition (IGIC) and a series of entertaining activities, including Drama Night and Music Night.

Ms. Esther A. N. Cobbah, Chief Executive Officer of Stratcomm Africa and President of the Institute of Public Relations (IPR) Ghana, highlighted the broader vision of the event: “The Ghana Garden and Flower Show has always been more than an event; it is part of a movement for a greener, more sustainable future. This year’s theme, ‘GREENOVATION: Green the Nation, Feed the Nation, Grow the Nation,’ embodies Stratcomm Africa’s 30-year commitment to pioneering innovative approaches that amplify societal impact.”

In response to the rising food prices, Ms. Cobbah emphasized the importance of combining food and flower cultivation in home gardens. “This year’s show seeks to encourage Ghanaians to take concrete actions towards a greener and more prosperous Ghana,” she added.

Stratcomm Africa extended an invitation to individuals, businesses, government agencies, international partners, and organizations to support and participate in the 2024 Ghana Garden and Flower Show. The event promises to be a vibrant platform for collaboration and celebration of sustainable living, aiming to cultivate a sustainable future for Ghana.
