GEA advocates for flexible work environments to boost women’s productivity
The Ghana Employers’ Association (GEA) is urging organizations to create a more flexible working environment for women to enhance productivity. During the 10th anniversary of Women in Human Resource in Ghana, Yvonne Asare Yeboah, Senior Manager in charge of Training & Administration at the GEA, emphasized that such flexibility could significantly boost the fortunes of organizations.
In the post-COVID-19 era, companies have adopted various strategies, including the use of technology and digital solutions, to create a more conducive working environment. To further improve these conditions, the GEA has organized a workshop for Human Resource practitioners, aimed at developing strategies and policies that will transform organizational practices.
Yvonne Asare Yeboah highlighted the critical role a flexible working environment plays, particularly for women, who often face challenges in balancing professional responsibilities with their biological roles. She pointed out that flexible arrangements, such as allowing women to adjust their work hours, could enable them to perform at their best.
Additionally, Yeboah called for the establishment of a proper regulatory framework by the government to support organizational growth and create a more accommodating work environment for all employees.
