The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has issued a strong condemnation of what it describes as blatant Iranian aggression against several Gulf and Middle Eastern states, warning of grave consequences for regional security and international law.

In a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on February 28, 2026, Saudi Arabia denounced what it called “flagrant violations” of the sovereignty of the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, and the Jordan, attributing the actions directly to Iran.

The Saudi government said the alleged actions represent a serious breach of international norms and a direct challenge to the principle of state sovereignty, which underpins regional and global stability.

Riyadh Pledges Full Support to Affected States

The statement reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s “full solidarity and unwavering support” for the affected countries, describing them as brotherly nations. Riyadh also signalled its readiness to deploy all available capabilities in support of any measures those states may choose to undertake in response.

Saudi officials warned that continued violations of sovereignty and international law would carry serious consequences, not only for bilateral relations but also for broader regional peace and security.

Call for International Action

Beyond regional support, Saudi Arabia urged the international community to take a firmer stance, calling for global condemnation of what it described as repeated Iranian violations that undermine stability in the Middle East.

The Ministry called on international actors to adopt “all firm measures necessary” to confront actions it says threaten regional security, stressing that silence or inaction could embolden further destabilising behaviour.

Rising Regional Tensions

The statement comes amid heightened geopolitical tensions in the Gulf and wider Middle East, where disputes over security, sovereignty and influence have increasingly drawn in regional powers and international stakeholders.

While the Saudi statement did not specify the exact nature of the alleged actions, its language underscores growing concern in Riyadh and among its allies over Iran’s regional conduct and its implications for stability.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Saudi Arabia remains committed to international law and collective security, warning that preserving regional peace requires firm responses to violations of sovereignty.
