BOST HR leader named Transformational HR Personality of the Year
Mr. Augustine Appiah, the Human Resources and Administration head at Bulk Energy Storage and Transportation (BOST) Company Limited, has been honored as the Transformational HR Personality of the Year at the 4th National Governance & Business Leadership Awards 2024 in Accra. This prestigious accolade, presented by the Governance & Business Boardroom, recognizes Mr. Appiah’s exceptional contributions to the Human Capital Management Industry, especially within BOST.
Mr. Appiah’s work in promoting diversity and inclusion, creating equal opportunities, and fostering teamwork has garnered widespread recognition. Over the past three years, he has played a pivotal role in BOST’s transformation agenda, leading the company from a loss-making position to consistent profitability in 2021, 2022, and beyond. His initiatives aimed at cultural and mindset changes have been crucial in driving BOST’s improved performance.
This latest recognition adds to Mr. Appiah’s impressive list of accolades, including HR Leader of the Decade and one of the Top 20 Influential HR Business Leaders in Ghana at the 3rd Governance and Business Leadership Awards.
In addition to Mr. Appiah’s individual honor, BOST was awarded Best Organization in Learning & Development Initiative, highlighting the company’s dedication to employee growth and continuous improvement.
The National Governance & Business Leadership Awards, organized by The Governance & Business Boardroom, is a high-impact program that celebrates excellence in corporate governance, leadership, economic empowerment, and job creation in Ghana.
As the head of HR and Administration, Mr. Appiah is responsible for implementing corporate strategies, managing staffing and labor relations, and overseeing training, compensation, change management, organizational effectiveness, and HR governance.
A graduate of the University of Ghana – Legon, Mr. Appiah holds a B.A. in Psychology with Political Science and an MPhil in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. He has also completed executive programs at the College of Executive Coaching (USA), IMD Business School (Switzerland), INSEAD (France), and Harvard Business School.
Mr. Appiah’s distinguished career includes roles at Unilever Ghana Limited, exZeed Company Limited, Ghana Telecom, Vodafone Ghana Limited, and Vodafone Group PLC.
