GPHA unveils advanced multi-purpose vessel
The Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) has commissioned a state-of-the-art multi-purpose vessel, MPV Gordon Anim, at the Port of Tema. This landmark addition is poised to enhance maritime operations and fortify Ghana’s position as a premier maritime hub in West Africa.

Speaking at the commissioning, the Director of the Port of Tema, Sandra Opoku, who represented GPHA’s Director-General, Michael Achagwe Luguje, described the event as a pivotal moment in Ghana’s maritime history. “This vessel signifies not only growth but also our commitment to operational excellence and sustainability in maritime trade,” she remarked.

The vessel is named after Mr. Gordon Anim, a highly respected figure in Ghana’s maritime sector. With 35 years of service to GPHA, Mr. Anim rose to become the Director of both the Tema and Takoradi Ports, leaving an indelible mark on the industry.
Expressing his gratitude, Mr. Anim said, “This is a profound honor, and I am deeply grateful to the board, management, and staff of GPHA for recognizing my contributions to this remarkable institution.”
