GACL Introduces New Deputy MD to Staff

Madam Obuobia Darko-Opoku, the newly appointed Acting Deputy Managing Director of the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL), has been formally introduced to staff at a durbar held at the company’s headquarters.

The event, led by Managing Director Mrs. Yvonne Nana Afriyie Opare, marked a significant moment as GACL welcomed a leader poised to enhance operational efficiency and drive institutional growth.
Addressing staff, Mrs. Opare congratulated Madam Darko-Opoku on her appointment and expressed confidence in her ability to complement the company’s existing expertise. Madam Darko-Opoku brings extensive expertise in corporate management, human resource leadership, strategic communications, and institutional transformation. She previously served as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Free Zones Authority, where she played a pivotal role in operational reforms and business development. Her leadership significantly enhanced institutional efficiency, streamlined policy implementation, and strengthened stakeholder engagement.
With a strong background in human resource management, governance, and brand strategy, she is well-positioned to support GACL’s mission to position Ghana as the premier aviation hub in West Africa and beyond. Her academic credentials, including degrees in Human Resource Management, Brand and Communications Management, and Public Relations—along with her ongoing PhD in Marketing—further reinforce her expertise in corporate strategy and stakeholder engagement.
