Businesses Increasingly Turning to Digital Systems to Boost Efficiency

A growing number of businesses in Ghana are adopting digital tools to streamline operations and improve competitiveness in an increasingly fast-paced economic environment, according to technology solutions provider Jogobu Limited.

Speaking at a business seminar in Accra, Jogobu’s Chief Executive Officer, Blaise Kudatugu, noted that many organisations are beginning to understand that manual work processes, scattered data systems, and reliance on hand-written documentation often slow down operations and expose companies to unnecessary financial losses.

He explained that the shift toward digital systems is being driven by the need for real-time information, faster workflow execution, and better control over inventory and other business resources.

“Technology adoption is no longer a trend—it is becoming a necessity for day-to-day operations. Staff already use digital platforms like WhatsApp and Teams to communicate. The next step is to manage entire operations digitally, from stock control to approvals,” Kudatugu said.

He noted that Jogobu’s mobile-enabled system allows business managers to track stock levels, confirm item locations, issue invoices, and monitor workflow activity remotely, improving oversight and response time.

Digital Systems Seen as Cost-Saving Tools

Kudatugu said perceptions around technology investment are also shifting. Many companies now recognize digital systems as a way to reduce inefficiencies rather than a cost burden.

“Once businesses compare technology costs to daily operational losses—whether from slow stock checks, misplaced items, or repeated purchases—they see that digital systems quickly pay for themselves,” he said.

He added that tasks that previously required hours of manual counting and verification are now completed digitally in minutes, allowing staff to focus on more productive work.

Better Accountability and Decision-Making

The move to digital systems is also helping institutions strengthen governance and reduce operational irregularities.
“With real-time tracking, managers know what they have, where it is located, and who has handled it. That level of transparency improves internal controls,” Kudatugu emphasized.

Adoption Spreading Across Multiple Sectors

The seminar attracted participants from logistics, healthcare, manufacturing, and port operations—sectors already integrating digital solutions to enhance service delivery.

Kudatugu said the growing interest reflects a broader realization that technology is central to Ghana’s economic transformation.

“More companies are embracing digital operations across different sectors. This is a positive sign. It shows that organisations are preparing themselves for growth, competition, and long-term sustainability,” he said.
