Anglogold Ashanti and Trust Hospital shine at 6th HESS Awards

The 6th Health, Environment, Safety, and Security (HESS) Awards held on Friday, June 28, 2024, honored Anglogold Ashanti and Trust Hospital for their outstanding contributions to environmental sustainability, workplace safety, and healthcare delivery.

Anglogold Ashanti took home an impressive eight awards, including the coveted ‘Best Company in Environmental Management Practices’ award for its sustainable mining efforts. The mining giant also received awards for HESS compliance, on-site safety awareness, HESS integration and digitalization, and innovative excellence, among others.

Trust Hospital was recognized for its excellence in healthcare delivery and patient safety, receiving awards for Best Company in Employee Health and Wellbeing Initiatives and Patient Safety & Security Excellence. The hospital’s CEO, Dr. Juliana Ameh, was also named HESS CEO of the Year.

The HESS Awards celebrated the achievements of businesses leading the way in environment, health, and safety initiatives, promoting best practices across industries and encouraging sustainable development in Ghana.
