Parliament announces commencement of vetting for ministerial nominees
The Appointments Committee of Parliament has announced that it will commence public hearings to vet the ministerial nominees of President John Dramani Mahama on Monday, January 13, 2025, at 9:00 a.m.
The hearing will focus on three nominees selected to lead critical sectors of government:
- Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson, the Minister-designate for Finance, whose appointment comes at a time of heightened public interest in economic stabilization and fiscal policy.
- John Abdulai Jinapor, the Minister-designate for Energy, tasked with steering the nation’s energy sector amidst calls for sustainable power solutions and energy security.
- Dr. Dominic Akuritinga Ayine, the Minister-designate for the Attorney General and Ministry of Justice, expected to drive reforms in Ghana’s justice system and ensure the rule of law.
The vetting process will provide the nominees an opportunity to outline their vision, priorities, and plans for their respective ministries while allowing Members of Parliament and the public to assess their qualifications and suitability for the roles.
