TRAFFITECH-GH Rollout Rescheduled to Nov 1
The Ghana Police Service has postponed the full implementation of its automated traffic law enforcement programme, TRAFFITECH-GH, from October 1 to November 1, 2026.
The Police Service said the additional month would allow for more extensive public education on the programme before enforcement begins.
The education campaign will cover how TRAFFITECH-GH operates, the traffic offences it will detect and the Electronic Notices of Violation (ENV) that will be issued to motorists who commit offences.
The programme is being implemented by the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) as part of efforts to address indiscipline on Ghana’s roads and improve compliance with traffic laws and regulations.
The Police Service urged motorists, drivers and vehicle owners to use the additional time to familiarise themselves with the system ahead of the November 1 rollout.
The postponement follows the Service’s ongoing public communication on TRAFFITECH-GH and its planned use of automated technology in traffic enforcement.
The Police said it would continue working with the media and other stakeholders to support the implementation of the programme and improve road safety.
The revised rollout date was announced in a statement dated September 29, 2026, signed on behalf of the Director-General of Public Affairs by Deputy Superintendent of Police Richmond Mensah, Staff Officer, Public Affairs.
