Serene Insurance Strengthens Market Position with Dual Wins in Ghana’s Insurance Industry
Serene Insurance Company Limited, a subsidiary of the First Sky Group, has reaffirmed its growing influence in Ghana’s insurance sector after scooping two prestigious awards this year.
At the 5th Chartered Insurance Institute of Ghana (CIIG) Excellence Awards, the company’s Head of Claims, Daniel Nunoo Otoo, was named Claims Professional of the Year 2024. The recognition highlights his consistency, integrity, and commitment to prompt claims settlement—qualities that have reinforced Serene Insurance’s reputation as a trusted partner for policyholders.
Mr. Otoo described the award as a reflection of teamwork at Serene Insurance. “This recognition marks a proud moment for me, but more importantly, it reflects the collective support, teamwork, and leadership at Serene Insurance,” he said.
Adding to this milestone, Serene Insurance was also adjudged Best Growing Insurance Company at the 8th Ghana Insurance Awards in August 2025, marking the second consecutive year it has won in that category.
The accolade was driven by the firm’s strong performance indicators, including higher gross written premiums, increased underwriting profit, expanding branch and agency networks, and improved claims settlement. The company’s General Manager for Marketing and Business Development, Nana Yaw Dwomoh, noted that the award underscored Serene Insurance’s “innovation, speed, and agility” in delivering customer-focused products.
Chief Executive Officer, Mercy Naa Koshie Boampong, praised the board, management, and staff for their loyalty and dedication, describing the achievements as “unprecedented in the history of new entrants in Ghana’s insurance ecosystem.”
