Ecobank Ghana hosts ESG workshop for manufacturing sector clients

Ecobank Ghana, in collaboration with the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), has organized a workshop on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles for its clients in the manufacturing sector. The event, held under the theme “Unlocking Sustainable Manufacturing: A Roadmap to Effective ESG Implementation”, aimed to empower participants with a comprehensive understanding of ESG principles and their applicability in business operations.

Over 200 participants from various sub-sectors within the manufacturing industry attended the workshop, which featured industry experts sharing insights and best practices on ESG implementation. The event provided a platform for discussion on the growing importance of incorporating ESG practices within the manufacturing industry.

Ecobank’s Country Risk Officer, Ms. Joana Mensah, emphasized the bank’s commitment to sustainability and its role in driving positive environmental and social change. The Group Head of Sustainability at Ecobank, Rachael Antwi, highlighted the bank’s commitment to promoting sustainable financing solutions and strategic partnerships across various sectors.

The CEO of AGI, Mr. Seth Twum-Akwaboah, applauded Ecobank for its support and emphasized the critical role of ESG standards in shaping business practices. Other contributors included representatives from the Bank of Ghana and the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana, who discussed upcoming regulatory frameworks and the impact of ESG principles on business practices.

The workshop demonstrated Ecobank’s commitment to supporting the manufacturing sector in operating sustainably and contributing to the national sustainability agenda.”
