ICUMS: Ghana Link Assures No Data Loss After Temporary Interruption

Ghana Link Network Services Ltd, operators of the Integrated Customs Management System (ICUMS), has assured stakeholders in the shipping, logistics, and transport sectors that no data has been lost following a temporary system interruption on October 23, 2024.

The company clarified that the disruption was due to a scheduled system upgrade aimed at enhancing performance, data security, and storage efficiency. All attached documents and historical records from 2020 to 2024 remain intact and fully retrievable.

Ghana Link emphasized that the incident was not a system failure or deliberate shutdown but part of ongoing efforts to optimize ICUMS operations. The system was restored within a short period, ensuring minimal disruption to trade activities.

Additionally, the company reaffirmed its commitment to data protection, maintaining full compliance with Ghana’s Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843). No breaches of data confidentiality occurred during the upgrade process.
