Mahama Dissolves Boards of GNPC, BOST, CBG, VALCO, Six Other State Institutions

President John Dramani Mahama has dissolved the boards of nine state institutions with immediate effect.
The affected institutions include the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Limited (BOST), Consolidated Bank Ghana Limited (CBG) and Volta Aluminium Company Limited (VALCO).
The others are Prestea Sankofa Gold Limited, Ghana Post Company Limited, the Road Maintenance Trust Fund, TDC Ghana Limited and the National Sports Authority.
The dissolution was announced in a statement issued on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Spokesperson to the President and Minister of Government Communications.
The statement said the relevant sector Ministers had been directed to take the necessary steps, in accordance with the applicable laws and governing instruments, to give effect to the dissolution.
It said the affected boards would be reconstituted in due course.
The statement did not give reasons for the dissolution or indicate when the new boards would be appointed.
