The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) has cautioned the public against falling victim to a fraudulent recruitment exercise that recently surfaced in Accra.

According to GIS, unsuspecting victims were directed to the Elwak Sports Stadium on September 21, 2025, under the pretext of undergoing body selection and subsequent training at its official training schools.

In a statement signed by Assistant Commissioner of Immigration and Head of Public Affairs, M. Amoako-Atta, the Service dissociated itself from the scam and stressed that it is not conducting any recruitment exercise. It further clarified that no third party has been engaged to undertake recruitment on its behalf.

The Service reiterated that any legitimate recruitment exercise is always advertised in national newspapers, specifically the Daily Graphic and the Ghanaian Times.

“Members of the public are hereby warned not to fall prey to such schemes,” the statement emphasized, urging citizens to verify all recruitment information directly with the GIS.

GIS assured that it remains committed to transparency and will continue to take measures to protect the public from fraudsters.
