New Food Support Programme Rolled Out Across Four Regions in Ghana

The Muhammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) and UAE AID, in partnership with the Food Banking Regional Network (FBRN) and in collaboration with Food for All Africa, have begun nationwide distribution of food support under the 1 Billion Meals Endowment Ghana Distribution 2025 programme.
The initiative, which runs from October to November 2025, will provide food boxes, basic essentials, nutritional support and clothing to vulnerable households across the Ashanti, Central, Eastern and Greater Accra Regions. The programme aims to support thousands of families experiencing food insecurity and economic hardship.

The official launch took place at the Offinso Saboa Mosque in the Ashanti Region. The event marked the start of a two-month distribution effort focused on strengthening community resilience and supporting ongoing efforts to reduce hunger and malnutrition across the country.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mallam Tamimu Bamba, Imam of the Offinso Saboa Mosque, expressed appreciation to the partners behind the initiative, noting that it comes at a critical time for many local families.
“This initiative is a true blessing to our community. It has come at a time when many families are struggling to meet their daily food needs. We pray for continued strength and blessings for those supporting this noble cause,” he said.
The Municipal Chief Executive for Offinso South, Hon. Frank Owusu Amoah, commended Food for All Africa for its role in coordinating hunger relief efforts.
“The 1 Billion Meals Endowment Ghana project demonstrates what is possible through collaboration. We are proud to see MBRGI and its partners leading the way in ensuring that no Ghanaian goes hungry, especially the vulnerable in our municipalities,” he said.
Operations Manager of Food for All Africa, Mr. Nelson Agboba, thanked the project sponsors for their continued support.
“We are deeply grateful to the Muhammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, UAE AID, and the Food Banking Regional Network for making this project possible. Their investment in people’s lives is creating a lasting impact on food systems and communities across Ghana,” he said.
Project Manager, Mr. Elinam Amudzi, called on district assemblies and community leaders to work with Food for All Africa to sustain such interventions.
“We encourage local authorities and communities to partner with us in building efficient and sustainable models of nutrition support. Together, we can ensure that vulnerable families have access not just to food, but to dignity and opportunity,” he said.
The 1 Billion Meals Endowment Ghana Distribution 2025 aligns with Food for All Africa’s ongoing mission to create an inclusive and sustainable food support system through food recovery, redistribution, and community empowerment initiatives.
