GIS Warns Public Against Recruitment Scam, Pursues Perpetrators

The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) has issued a strong warning to the public regarding a fraudulent recruitment scheme circulating online via the unauthorized portal GOLERNERSHUB.COM. The website falsely claims to be facilitating a protocol recruitment process for the Service.
In an official statement, the GIS categorically dissociated itself from the platform, stating that it has not authorized any individual, group, or third-party website to conduct recruitment exercises or sell protocol forms on its behalf.
“The Service has not received any official clearance from the Government to initiate a recruitment process,” the statement emphasized, assuring that all legitimate recruitment exercises will be publicly announced through official channels, including national newspapers and GIS’s verified platforms.
The GIS further revealed that its Intelligence Section, in collaboration with other state security agencies, is actively investigating the case and working to apprehend those behind the fraudulent activity.
The Service urged the public to remain vigilant, advising citizens to disregard and report any engagement from the aforementioned site or similar unofficial platforms. “Anyone who deals with such entities does so at their own risk,” the GIS cautioned.
This development raises broader concerns about the growing trend of online recruitment fraud targeting job seekers in Ghana. Industry analysts warn that the increasing digitalization of government services must be matched with robust cybersecurity awareness campaigns to protect vulnerable citizens.
The GIS reiterated its commitment to maintaining transparency and public trust in its operations while ensuring that perpetrators of such schemes are brought to justice.
