Emirates Introduces Electric Premium Economy Seat with Privacy Screen

Emirates is introducing a new Premium Economy seat that gives passengers more privacy and greater control over their seating space.
The airline says the electrically powered seat, which comes with a full-height privacy screen, is the first of its kind in a Premium Economy cabin.
The seat will be introduced on newly delivered Airbus A350 aircraft, where Emirates has fitted 28 Premium Economy seats in a 2-3-2 layout.
Passengers can raise or lower the privacy screen using the seat controls and lock it in place. The feature is designed to give travellers more privacy when sleeping, eating or working during a flight.
The seats are 20 inches wide and offer up to 39 inches of pitch. They also recline into a cradle position, allowing passengers to rest without significantly affecting the space of the passenger behind them.
The new seats are fully electrically powered, with controls that allow passengers to adjust their seating position. They include specific settings for dining and relaxing.

More charging options
Emirates is also adding wireless charging to Premium Economy for the first time.
Each seat will have USB-C charging and a tray table with a phone holder, allowing passengers to keep their devices charged and use their phones while eating or watching entertainment.
The airline’s ice entertainment system will be available through a 13.3-inch 4K HDR touchscreen.
Passengers on the A350 will also have access to additional external camera views, including views from the left and right sides of the aircraft.
Other features include the U-Dream headrest by Safran Seats, which allows passengers to adjust the headrest for better neck and head support. A leather footrest is also provided.
Premium Economy gets more attention
Emirates introduced Premium Economy in 2022 and has gradually expanded the cabin across its fleet. The product is now available on markets served by its A350 aircraft.
The cabin also includes upgraded meals and drinks. Passengers are served meals on Royal Doulton china with linen napkins and stainless-steel cutlery, alongside a selection of premium beverages and wines.
On long-haul flights, passengers receive reusable amenity kits containing travel essentials and Aveda skincare products.
Emirates said it has invested more than US$1 billion in its wine portfolio since 2006 as part of its broader investment in onboard services.
The airline has received awards for its Premium Economy service, including Best Premium Economy Class at the Business Traveller Middle East Awards in 2024 and 2025 and Airline with the Best Premium Economy Class at the 2025 ULTRAs Awards.
The new seat adds privacy and technology to the features Emirates is using to separate its Premium Economy service from conventional economy travel.
