Owusu Afriyie Prempeh – Manhyia South NPP Parliamentary Aspirant

Early Life and Education

Owusu Afriyie Prempeh was born on February 4, 1979, in Kumasi. He spent his childhood in Apagyafie, located in the Manhyia South Constituency, Kumasi. He began his primary education at Martyrs of Uganda in Kumasi and went on to attend Prempeh College for his O’ and A’ levels from 1989 to 1996. He furthered his education at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), where he graduated with honors in Law and Sociology.

Service and Further Education

Owusu Prempeh served Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at the Manhyia Palace Secretariat as an Administrative Assistant and at the Museum as a National Service Personnel. He then pursued international education, becoming a CIMA Qualified Graduate at the London School of Accountancy and Management in the UK. Additionally, he completed a dual master’s degree program in International Finance at the University of Westminster (London) and the European School of Business (France).

Professional Affiliations

Owusu Prempeh is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICAG), and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA, UK).

Career

Currently, he is the Manager in charge of Corporate Finance at the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC). His past roles include positions as a Treasury Officer at Consolidated Bank Ghana Ltd, an AVP at The Royal Bank Ltd Ghana, an Investment Officer at Investpro Ghana Ltd, and an Assistant Accountant at UK Star Group.

Community Involvement

Prempeh is a devout Christian and serves as a Mass Server at St. Anne’s Anglican Church in Ashanti New Town, Kumasi. He holds the position of Treasurer for the Manhyia South Constituency and has previously worked as a Polling Station Agent. Notably, he led the negotiation for the construction of a new Astro Turf by GNPC at Konadu Yiadom School in the Manhyia South Constituency.
