Twellium invests GH₵3m in innovative effluent treatment plant

In a groundbreaking move, Twellium Industrial Company Limited, a Ghanaian manufacturing company, has invested GH3 million in a cutting-edge Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) to ensure environmental sustainability.

The ETP, a first-of-its-kind facility in Ghana, treats and purifies industrial wastewater, preventing any harmful discharge into the environment.

The plant processes up to 1,000 cubic meters of wastewater daily, meeting the strict GS 1212:2019 effluent discharge parameters for the food and beverage industries. The treated water can be reused for domestic purposes, such as crop irrigation, supporting neighboring farmers.

Chief Marketing Officer, Mr. Ali Ajami, emphasized the company’s commitment to environmental stewardship, stating, “We remain dedicated to preventing environmental harm and maintaining high standards of sustainability.”

The company’s proactive approach has been praised by Ghanaian Afro-dancehall sensation Stonebwoy, who commended Twellium for investing in Ghana and creating employment opportunities.

The event also saw the announcement of Dr. Louisa Ansong-Satekla, Stonebwoy’s wife, as Brand Ambassador for Verna Mineral Water, further solidifying the company’s commitment to sustainability and community engagement.

The innovative initiative sets a new standard for environmental sustainability in Ghana’s manufacturing sector, showcasing Twellium’s dedication to responsible business practices.
