MTN Ghana Foundation launches 7th Edition of ‘Heroes of Change’

MTN Ghana Foundation has launched the 7th edition of its flagship “MTN Heroes of Change” programme, an initiative aimed at recognizing individuals and organizations making significant social contributions across the country. The programme highlights those who dedicate their time, energy, and resources to improve their communities and uplift lives.

This year’s edition introduces two new categories—Media and Digital Heroes—alongside the traditional focus areas of Health, Education, and Economic Empowerment.

Speaking at the launch, Adwoa Wiafe, Chief Corporate Services and Sustainability Officer at MTN Ghana, emphasized the importance of acknowledging unsung heroes who work tirelessly to bring about meaningful change. “We celebrate the real heroes within our communities, those who go out of their way daily to transform lives in impactful ways,” she said.

Over the years, the ‘Heroes of Change’ programme has made a substantial impact, recognizing more than 100 individuals and organizations. Wiafe noted that past winners have gained global recognition, further amplifying their efforts. “The response has been overwhelming, with millions tuning in to watch the program, and these stories have inspired others to do good in society,” she added.

This year, MTN Ghana is expanding the initiative’s digital focus, aligning with the company’s broader goal of advancing digital solutions across Africa and promoting Ghana’s digital transformation. “We are pushing digital and inclusion this year, with nominations being accepted online through our Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube platforms,” Wiafe explained.

The public is encouraged to participate by nominating deserving individuals through these digital channels. The ultimate winner of Season 7 will receive a grand prize of GH₵100,000.

Wiafe reaffirmed MTN Ghana’s commitment to supporting community leaders who are driving positive change, promising that more inspiring stories of transformation will be showcased.

Robert Kuzoe, Senior Manager of the MTN Ghana Foundation, expressed gratitude to all attendees, emphasizing the importance of individual actions in sparking social change. “At MTN Ghana, we believe that change begins with individuals, which is why we are dedicated to recognizing and celebrating those who selflessly make a difference in their communities,” he stated.

Kuzoe also highlighted the role of innovation and resilience in overcoming community challenges and extended a warm welcome to past honorees. “Your stories of positive change inspire us all, and we are proud to celebrate your achievements,” he said.

As the 7th edition of ‘Heroes of Change’ begins, MTN Ghana Foundation looks forward to discovering and celebrating more heroes whose efforts are shaping a brighter future for the nation. The foundation is calling on the public to continue supporting and recognizing those making real, lasting differences in their communities.
