Mastercard Foundation Launches Inspiring Podcast to Empower Future Leaders

The Mastercard Foundation has unveiled a groundbreaking new podcast, Transcending Boundaries – Conversations with Reeta Roy, designed to inspire, challenge, and motivate the next generation to lead with purpose and courage.

Hosted by Reeta Roy, President & CEO of the Mastercard Foundation, the series offers thought-provoking discussions with global changemakers, including former heads of state, human rights advocates, and social innovators. Through these conversations, listeners gain insight into the personal and professional journeys of remarkable leaders who have shaped the world through their vision and resilience.

“In my life as a leader, I have learned that every meaningful conversation starts with listening,” said Reeta Roy. “Transcending Boundaries presents a rare opportunity to hear directly from those who have transformed not just their own lives, but also the communities and societies around them. By understanding the experiences that shaped them, we unlock wisdom that can inspire us all to lead and make a difference.”

The podcast debuts with an exclusive conversation with Nobel Laureate and former Liberian President, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf. As Africa’s first female head of state and a trailblazer for governance and women’s rights, Sirleaf reflects on the pivotal moments that defined her leadership, the mentors who guided her, and the values that sustained her through triumphs and setbacks.

“I had to learn to be strong in success while maintaining self-confidence in moments of defeat,” Sirleaf shared. “My mother’s resilience and unwavering focus on education instilled in me the strength of character to push forward, not just for my own growth, but for the progress of the society I serve.”

Through candid and deeply personal conversations, Transcending Boundaries invites listeners to explore the forces that shape influential leaders and to discover how courage and conviction can drive meaningful change.

The first episode is now available on major podcast platforms.
