Tema Tank Farm, CH Group Foundation praised for library and court projects

The Tema Tank Farm (TTF), Ghana’s leading privately-owned petroleum depot, and the CH Group Foundation have received widespread praise for funding the construction of an ultramodern library and magistrate court complex in Kpone Katamanso, Greater Accra Region.
Traditional leaders and community members described the simultaneous commissioning of these state-of-the-art facilities as “unprecedented” and expressed gratitude to TTF for giving back to the community where it operates.
Speaking at the event, TTF Terminal Director, Edem Boni, highlighted the company’s commitment to community development. “We are giving back to the community in which we operate,” he said. “Through research, we identified the need for a library to promote education and a court to ensure access to justice.”
The commissioning of the facilities last November also marked TTF’s achievement of 2,000 days without a lost time injury (LTI)—a first in Ghana’s downstream petroleum industry.
Community members shared their excitement about the impact of the projects. Nii Adjei, a 60-year-old former factory worker, noted that the library would enhance the reading culture among the youth, while the magistrate court would improve access to justice. “Before, accessing the court was difficult. Now, with this magnificent court, it’s much easier to seek justice,” he said.
Michael Addo, a local student, celebrated the new library, noting the struggle of finding study spaces in the past. “This problem is now solved with the commissioning of TTF’s library,” he remarked.
Businessman Abu Fuseini emphasized the court’s importance for businesses in the area, stating, “It will save us from traveling to neighboring districts to resolve disputes.”
Jeremy Sackey, representing the CH Group Foundation, praised the collaborative effort behind the projects, which involved partnerships with the Ghana Library Authority (GhLA) and the Judicial Council. “Providing books for children will help them grow in knowledge, translating into positive actions for the community and the country,” he said.
Sackey further outlined the foundation’s mission to bridge the gap between talent and resources, empowering underserved communities with opportunities for academic and personal growth. “Our vision is to provide access to high-quality education and to be a transformative force in Ghana and beyond,” he added.
Under the leadership of Kwaku Bediako, the CH Group Foundation has spearheaded numerous corporate social responsibility initiatives, including building boreholes, renovating schools, and advancing healthcare and education in underserved areas. Established in 2020, the foundation remains dedicated to driving social and economic progress in Ghana.
The library and court projects exemplify TTF and CH Group Foundation’s shared commitment to uplifting communities and fostering sustainable development.
