CWG Ghana Limited has secured the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification, strengthening its position as one of West Africa’s most trusted providers of secure ICT and digital infrastructure services. The global accreditation reflects the company’s commitment to safeguarding data and ensuring operational resilience as cyber threats accelerate across the continent.

The certification was awarded after an extensive independent audit covering the company’s sales operations, finance, project delivery, technical services, data centres and disaster recovery facilities.

Managing Director Harriet Yartey, who also serves as Vice President for Regions at CWG PLC, said the achievement signals the company’s long-term commitment to world-class security. “This certification reinforces our dedication to building secure systems that inspire confidence among our clients and partners. It demonstrates our determination to meet and exceed international standards in information security,” she said.

Strengthening Cyber Defences Across the Business

Against a backdrop of increasingly sophisticated attacks in Africa, the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 framework provides CWG Ghana with a structured and tested approach to risk management.

The upgraded system includes round-the-clock incident monitoring, a fully documented response plan, severity-based incident protocols and comprehensive root-cause analysis, all integrated into the company’s business continuity framework.

“Our response capabilities have been significantly strengthened and benchmarked against global best practice, ensuring we can detect, respond to and recover from threats with speed and precision,” Yartey said.

Laying the Groundwork for Advanced Security Investments

With the certification in place, CWG Ghana is preparing to deepen its cybersecurity investments. The company is set to roll out Zero Trust Architecture, enhance third-party risk oversight and introduce more security automation tools to reduce operational risk and improve efficiency.

“This certification is not the finish line. It is the platform on which we will continue to build. The threat landscape is evolving, and so will we,” Yartey said.

Championing Regional Cybersecurity Collaboration

CWG Ghana is also calling for stronger collaboration across West Africa’s corporate and regulatory sectors, noting that cybersecurity is a shared responsibility.

“Security is not a one-organisation task,” Yartey said. “We are ready to work with regulators, partners and the broader business community to deepen cybersecurity awareness and resilience. Our achievement shows that this level of compliance is both attainable and necessary across the industry.”

Supporting Ghana’s Digital Transformation

The certification aligns with Ghana’s ambition to position itself as a secure, regional digital and technology hub. CWG Ghana’s strengthened systems support the country’s expanding digital economy, from fintech and cloud services to data-driven enterprise operations.

By meeting one of the world’s most rigorous information security standards, CWG Ghana enhances its competitive edge and boosts confidence among organisations seeking secure, scalable and future-ready technology partners across West Africa.
